Education visa (Non-ED)
The education visa (Non-immigrant ED) is for studying at a school approved by Thailand's Ministry of Education, such as a Thai or English language school. You enter on a 90-day visa and extend in Thailand for the length of your course. Unlike most visas, you can often switch to it from inside Thailand.

Valid for at least six months, with a recent passport photo.
Enrolment letter
Signed by an authorised person at your school.
Proof of funds
Recent bank statements. The amount varies by embassy.

Paid to the school when you enrol.
What it costs
Our prices include your course and our THB 19,500 service fee, from THB 64,500 for a nine-month Thai course. The government fee for each extension (THB 1,900) is paid at immigration.

What’s new in 2026
No major changes to this visa. No major changes have been announced for 2026. Requirements can still differ between embassies and immigration offices, so we check the current list for your case.

Visa-free entry is now 30 days. Since 15 September 2026, visitors from 60 countries and territories can stay up to 30 days without a visa, extendable once by up to 30 days for THB 1,900. It is no longer a practical way to start a long stay.
