Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a five-year, multiple-entry visa for remote workers and people taking part in Thai "soft power" activities such as Muay Thai or Thai cooking. Each entry allows up to 180 days, which you can extend once by up to 180 days. You need THB 500,000 in savings and must apply from your home country.

The two DTV categories
Every DTV applicant applies under one of two categories: Remote Worker or Soft Power. Both need THB 500,000 in savings, and your family can join you under either.
Bringing your family
Your legally married spouse and your children under 20 can apply as dependants under either category. Civil partnerships aren't accepted.

You enrol on a course such as Muay Thai, Thai cooking or Thai massage. We arrange this through our partner Muay Thai gyms and recommend a course of nine to 12 months.

What you'll need
Passport
Valid for at least six months, with a recent passport photo.
Proof of funds
THB 500,000 in any bank account in your name, held for at least three months.
Employer letter
Remote Worker: from your company outside Thailand, approving your remote work.
Enrolment letter
Soft Power: from an approved Thai school or gym, such as a Muay Thai course.
Address and police check
Proof of address where you apply, and a police certificate from the last six months.
What it costs
Our service fee is THB 19,500 per person, and the same for each dependant. It includes a personalised document checklist, English-speaking support on WhatsApp, a full review of every document, completed forms and online submission, with a senior team member signing off your file. The embassy fee (THB 10,000 to 14,000 per person, depending on the embassy) is paid separately when you submit. If you choose the Soft Power category, course fees are paid to the school.

No. The DTV covers remote work for employers and clients outside Thailand. Working for a Thai company needs a Non-B visa and a work permit.
Yes. Your spouse and children under 20 can apply as dependants on your DTV.

What’s new in 2026
Apply where you live. Since 31 August 2026, DTV applications must be made in your country of nationality or permanent residence, so applying from a neighbouring country is no longer an option for most people.

Police certificate now required. You need a police certificate issued within the last six months. Dependants need one too, although children under 16 can usually use the main applicant’s certificate.

Visa-free entry is now 30 days. Since 15 September 2026, visitors from 60 countries and territories can stay up to 30 days without a visa, extendable once by up to 30 days for THB 1,900. It is no longer a practical way to start a long stay.
